Transportation

The structure of the cattle sector requires calves born throughout country be transported to feed yards and packing plants in other parts of the country. Often, cattle are purchased at a livestock auction market in one region of the United States, and then shipped to another region, resulting in hauls longer than Hours of Service (HOS) rules allow.

The Livestock Marketing Association supports commonsense polices that provide flexibility for livestock and agricultural haulers to safely and efficiently transport the animals they haul to their ultimate destination while opposing undue and overly burdensome regulation.
